The Nowy Pafawag Cultural Centre is the oldest community cultural institution in Wrocław. It was originally established to serve the workers of one of Lower Silesia’s largest industrial enterprises — the State Railcar Factory in Wrocław, commonly known as Pafawag. Over the decades, the centre evolved, reflecting the broader changes taking place around it. In 2024, it returned to its original name — though in a refreshed, contemporary form.

The film Old, New Pafawag draws on rich photographic and audiovisual archives to tell the story of this unique and longest-running cultural centre in Wrocław. Its aim is to explore and preserve the memory of a place deeply rooted in the city’s social and industrial history.

Powstał z myślą o pracownikach jednego z największych zakładów przemysłowych Dolnego Śląska – Państwowej Fabryki Wagonów we Wrocławiu (w skrócie Pafawag). Przez kolejne dziesięciolecia zmieniał swoje oblicze, podobnie jak wszystko co trwało i działo się wokół niego. W roku 2024, powrócił do swojej starej nazwy – lecz w odświeżonej wersji. Intencją filmu „Stary, Nowy Pafawag”, bazującego na bogatych archiwach fotograficznych i audiowizualnych, było pokazanie historii tego wyjątkowego, najdłużej działającego domu kultury we Wrocławiu.
