The film was made during a week-long residency at Harp Art Lab (Harplinge, Sweden) as part of the BZZZ International Sound Art Festival. “Bittersweet Rhythms” consciously refer to the film “Sweet Rhythms” of Kazimierz Urbański from 1965. We used leaves, flowers and grass picked up from surrounding meadows, cut them and attach to transparent 35 mm negative stripes. The stripes  were captured frame by frame and screened at 24 fps speed.

This work is dedicated to busy bees which, as a result of civilization impact on the enviroment, experience proverbially “a bit of tar in the honey barrel”.
